Desert Hills Lodge is our flagship venue. As the name implies, the lodge gracefully perch on a natural stone outcrop, generously spoiling its guests to spectacular views of the desert below and the dramatic Namib sunset. As the sun sets, it sends its long red tendrils of delight into each of the 18 chalets. Within each stone ensconced thatch chalet contain all the indulgences befitting a modern traveller and have an aesthetic essence about them which instantly ignites any city-numbed imagination.
Desert Hills is the perfect place to use as a base for exploring the area or spending time in its serenity and think the thoughts you’ve forgotten to think. Sossusvlei and Sesriem is a stone throw away and top of your day with delectable cheese and wine in the cellar, a heavenly sundowner, glorious dining, and the kind of sleep Morpheus would be proud of.

The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!”
Everything in Africa bites, but the safari bug is worst of all.
There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign.
The only man I envy is the man who has not yet been to Africa — for he has so much to look forward to.
It feels good to be lost in the right direction.
Then I realized that to be more alive, I had to be less afraid. So I did it. I lost my fear and gained my whole life.
All good things are wild and free.
